Reminder - if you do not know the candidates, do not just vote for someone because you've seen their name, they're first on the ballot, or randomly. It it much better to leave an area blank.

Additionally, if there is only one candidate name, mark them if you think they're doing a good job but leave blank if you think they are not serving you well. Blank races DO make a difference - people thinking about running, may decide to declare if they see a lot of blank votes in the last election.

Remember - this is NOT a multiple choice test - you do NOT have to vote in every race, if you don't have a strong preference for a candidate. (However you DO have to mark your ballot "Democratic Party" for any of your votes in the primary to be counted except the Maui County and School Board.

I'm still wondering who is paying the hundreds of thousands of dollars to the attorney. Is it Castle and Cooke because Sol discovered they stole a lot of the Lana'i land from the Hawaiians?

It is going to be an interesting Democratic primary in District 8. Last time, Tasha Kama came within 200 votes of winning the primary against incumbant Joe Souki. With quite a few people telling her afterwards that they didn't realize that they had to vote in the primary if they wanted to vote for her, those numbers could change.

We are one crazy country that permits presidents to commit outrageous evil acts without consequences to themselves; instead he's appointed to collect funds for charities! As long as politicians are not held to account for their acts, we'll be sliding into disaster in an irreversible glidepath.
